Take your dog's training to the next level

Good Dog for Life

This program is an all inclusive program starting from the day you bring your new puppy home. We are with you every step of the way in helping you show your puppy how to be the best family companion you could imagine.

It starts with a lesson when the puppy goes home to answer all those burning questions about what to do and what not to do - from crating and potty training to puppy biting and more.

Puppies go through a critical socialization period that ends around 14 weeks so we coach you on all the things we want your puppy to experience in this early stage. We want them to experience a variety of sights, sounds, textures and new things in a way that builds their confidence to take on the world.

Environmental exposure and neutrality is so important to teach early. This is also the time for working on potty training, crate training, conditioning markers, naming the basic obedience commands and more. They can learn to swim, play appropriately and take lots of fun field trips!

It's not just the dog that needs an education, the human end of the leash is critical! You'll learn the basics, but also the WHY so that you understand how to live successfully with them.

When the dog is 6-10 months old, they are ready to start their adult training! This is an opportunity for us to work together to teach the dog how to follow through on our expectations whether on a leash or off a leash and in any environment. After this we'll see you in group classes to keep up your dog's new skills!

Prior to the Good Dog for Life program, I was in tears with frustration. I am forever grateful we were referred to Kelsey! She took our very smart, beautiful, spunky, wild child of a dog and turned her into a lady. As a puppy, Zelda had zero regard for humans and was going to do whatever she wanted to do!

We spent two weeks working with Kelsey for puppy training and then we continued to practice what she had learned. I was definitely impressed! We couldn’t get past sit and in a matter of two weeks she had learned all the basic commands and how to walk properly on a leash.

She then spent a month learning how to behave both on and off leash and the results have blown my mind - Zelda is a completely new dog! She is still her spunky self but now with manners. Kelsey has been nothing short of a miracle for Zelda and our family. We are very excited to see where the future takes us!

If you are wanting your dog to become the go everywhere, do everything companion, this is the program for you!

Most people seeking out training want their dogs to be able to participate in more of the activities in life than they are currently having success with. This 4-6 week program is designed for dogs 6 months and older. Throughout the program the dogs learn to have a calm state of mind, proper play, basic obedience on and off leash.

I know what you are thinking... 5 weeks is way too long! But look at it this way - we send children to school for 15-20 years to prepare them for life. Time is where the magic happens - we take our time and that allows us to build and solidify new habits.

Owner education is a major part of the dog's success, so owners will have a specific set of instructions for what to practice with their dog. Consistency plays a key role in the owner's success with teaching the dog the new expectations you will have for them!

When the dog is ready to graduate, we do a final lesson in the home to go over all the dog has learned, and how to continue. After this we'll see you in group classes to sharpen your relationship with your dog and keep up your dog's new skills.

"When I reached out to Kelsey, I was at my wits end. My dog had just come home from 4 weeks with another trainer in bad shape physically, with behavior worse than when I sent him. Kelsey couldn't have been more empathetic to my situation. I signed up with her and the results are nothing short of remarkable. My relationship with my dog has evolved and he is now a pleasure to live with. I cannot recommend Kelsey enough."

Puppy Jumpstart

A solid foundation during a puppy's development can prevent a variety of behavior problems that may arise during adolescence.

Owner education is the key to success. A puppy program won't give you a finished dog, and if you don't keep up with the instructions, it will be a waste of your investment. Puppy programs are about basics, laying the foundation for good habits, fear prevention and getting the puppy in a mindset where they are happy to learn and work together. Ultimately, YOU are the magic piece of the equation when it comes to raising a balanced dog.

After this initial education, we'll see you in group classes to keep up your dog's new skills.

Peach

We were struggling with our golden doodle puppy, Peach. As a puppy, of course she was hyper, but her breed had her on hyper drive day in and day out. Walking her on a leash was impossible, getting her to learn and obey commands was a nightmare.

We were referred to Kelsey by a friend who swore by the results. Kelsey worked with Peach, and during that time, Peach learned to walk on a leash, heel, sit, and stay in her place on command.

Most importantly, Peach learned not to bolt out the front door, which was one of our biggest concerns. At the end of the training, Kelsey worked to ensure that we understood what Peach knew and spent time training us to carry on and reinforce Peach's training.

Overall, Kelsey and her training philosophy transformed Peach and we can't recommend her enough.
